Autohaus Heuberger invests in a new paint center
Over 2 million euros for state-of-the-art technology and sustainability
Autohaus Heuberger in Füssen is a state-of-the-art and future-oriented company. In its 75-year history, the company has repeatedly invested in new infrastructure in order to meet the high standards and demands of its customers at all times.
With over 150 employees in Füssen and Bernbeuren, Heuberger is one of the leading car dealerships in the region. Heuberger is an authorized dealer and service company for Audi, Volkswagen passenger cars and Volkswagen commercial vehicles as well as a service company for ŠKODA, SEAT and CUPRA.
The new paint shop in Füssen has now been officially opened on the modern Heuberger site in Hieblerstrasse. The new paint shop replaces the old paint shop in Sailerstraße, where modern, future-oriented standards could no longer be implemented. Reiner Heuberger therefore decided to build a new paint shop with state-of-the-art technology and the greatest possible sustainability.
The new paint shop is 40 meters long and 17 meters wide. The employees will find ideal workplaces here, which are characterized by daylight, high air exchange and odour neutrality. The new building also includes a modern combined heat and power plant, which also supplies the four existing buildings, a photovoltaic system and a filter system that operates according to the highest emission standards.
The new paint center mainly paints full and partial vehicle bodies according to manufacturer specifications. Heuberger uses a particularly large paint shop in special dimensions to be able to paint larger vehicles such as vans, SUVs and caravans as well as cars perfectly.
The technical equipment for the paint store was supplied by SEHON innovative Lackieranlagen GmbH from near Stuttgart, which is regarded as the technology market leader in the industry. SEHON impressed Heuberger GmbH with the perfect implementation of the required holistic concept, in which great importance was attached to the best possible technology and maximum sustainability – all from a single source.
The new SE-PROFESSIONAL FUTURA painting system with integrated drying function is the high-end model from the Swabian manufacturer and offers a wide range of technical features and innovations that result in absolute top quality painting with minimal energy consumption.
These include intelligent controls – also by operating mode, year-round heat recovery with a rotary heat exchanger and heat recovery of up to 70 %, the highly effective and energy-saving SE-ÖCOTOP unit technology, the unique SE-ÖCOPLUS NT energy-saving module, the perfect multi-stage SE-SUPRACLEAN filter system, the SE-AIRMASTER automatic air volume control system, LED lighting and the SE-AIRPLUS Comfort exhaust air acceleration system.
“Our customer requested and received the perfect symbiosis of high-tech and green technology,” says Tiemo Sehon, “we are not aware of any comparable system technology in the world. We are proud of this. And our customers know that they are getting the best of the best from us, including future-proofing. We would like to thank Reiner Heuberger and his team for the trust they have placed in us and for the order to equip this ultra-modern paint shop with sustainable systems.”
SEHON and its system partner developed the right energy management system for the new paint shop. At the heart of the system are a photovoltaic system and a combined heat and power unit, which means that the company hardly has to buy in any additional energy. The required energy is produced in-house and surplus energy is fed back into the grid. According to Tiemo Sehon, this enables Autohaus Heuberger to achieve energy neutrality and even complete energy self-sufficiency.
In addition to the new combi paint booth, SEHON was able to equip the Heuberger paint shop with an additional dryer, two masking workstations, five preparation workstations – one of which can also be used as a multifunctional workstation and another as a parts workstation – two finishing workstations, a filler room, a paint supply room and a storage room.
In the new paint store, the steps involved in refinishing are completely process-oriented. The vehicle to be painted is routed through the masking, painting, drying and finishing process chain in the shortest possible way. For this purpose, the individual work areas were connected with a floor-level cross slide rail system so that a vehicle can be moved manually from one work step to the next – from masking to finishing – in a continuous process without using the engine. This process-oriented workflow is highly effective and absolutely sustainable.
