KSB – New SEHON painting line for pumps and valves

KSB SE & Co. KGaA - New SEHON coating line

A new sustainable and process-oriented painting line was built with SEHON at the KSB production site in Pegnitz (Germany, Bavaria). The sustainable system consists of a cleaning system, two large industrial painting booths and a drying system.

KSB SE & Co. KGaA is a listed manufacturer of pumps and valves based in Frankenthal (Germany, Rhineland-Palatinate). At the production site in Pegnitz (Bavaria), SEHON built a new, sustainable and process-oriented painting line:

Cleaning system with drying

7 m × 5.5 m × 5.6 m (L × W × H). Drip-proof cabin ceiling. Stainless steel floor pan with pump sump.

XXL high-tech industrial spray booth (SE-PROFESSIONAL FUTURA)

7 m × 5.5 m × 4.5 m (L×W×H). Loading with overhead crane possible (crane slot technology). Heating with pumped hot water. Heat recovery with rotary heat exchanger, recovery rate up to 70 %. SE-ÖCOPLUS NT energy-saving systems, LED lighting.

High-tech industrial paint booth XL (SE-PROFESSIONAL FUTURA)

5 m × 4 m × 4.6 m (L×W×H). Heated with pumped hot water. Heat recovery with rotary heat exchanger, recovery rate up to 70 %. SE-ÖCOPLUS NT energy-saving systems, LED lighting.

High-tech industrial drying system XL

4.85 m × 7.10 m × 4.6 m (L×W×H). Heated with pumped hot water. Entry and exit gate as electrically operated folding sliding gate.

Two SE-PROFESSIONAL FUTURA industrial paint booths and dryers with integrated heat recovery, rotary heat exchangers (up to 70 % heat recovery) and other energy-saving modules such as SE-ÖCOPLUS NT and LED lighting. Heating with pumped hot water. High-end SE-ÖCOTOP unit technology. XXL painting booth with crane slot for product loading via overhead crane. Floor-level, automatically extendable lifting tables in the painting booths for lifting the products to be painted. Electrically operated folding sliding doors. Full-surface grating cladding on the booth floors. Highly effective extraction walls with filter units underneath the gratings. 16 m high exhaust air towers. Over 99 % particle-free air, far below the legal requirements.

Paint shop assembly during ongoing production

As the painting system had to be installed at KSB during ongoing production, the mobile and transportable SEHON SE-PROFESSIONAL MOVE painting system was used during the installation period. This made it possible to continue painting at the plant and reduce production downtime. Another part of the painting work was distributed to other KSB plants.
