Niggemeyer modernizes paint center
Full-service provider relies on state-of-the-art technology for optimum paint finishes
Niggemeyer Fahrzeug + Lackiertechnik in Paderborn focuses on sustainability and efficient technology. The full-service company, known for its wide range of services from expert reports to accident damage processing, has comprehensively modernized its paint shop.
From the preparation of expert reports and damage calculations to accident damage processing. Customers can rely on this comprehensive service package at Niggemeyer Fahrzeug + Lackiertechnik. The company in Paderborn can look back on 70 years of experience and attaches great importance to always being at the cutting edge of technology. Niggemeyer is modernizing its paint shop, relying on the expertise and technologies of SEHON innovative Lackieranlagen GmbH.
SEHON was able to equip Niggemeyer with ultra-modern and efficient paint booths and drying systems made in Germany. These measures not only save the company energy costs, but also help to significantly reduce its own carbon footprint. During the modernization, the focus was not only on the efficiency of the new paint shop, but also on reducing the energy consumption of the entire company with the help of its own combined heat and power plant. Thanks to a holistic energy concept, SEHON has helped the company to purchase up to 25% less energy than before.
“Our customers appreciate the all-round service that we offer in practically every respect and for almost every vehicle class. Of course, in addition to quality and reliability, environmental friendliness also plays an important role, which is essential for every body and paint store these days,” explains Managing Director Mona Niggemeyer-Hollmann, adding:
“Due to the high energy prices, it was extremely important to us that a renewal of the paint booths and paint drying systems would not only result in optimum painting results, but that we would trim the paint shop and the entire operation to the maximum possible energy and cost savings with our own combined heat and power plant and the intelligent energy concept from SEHON.”
Niggemeyer modernizes paint shop to use thermal energy more efficiently
The two new SE-PROFESSIONAL FUTURA combi spray booths and drying systems with efficient heat recovery ensure that 65% of the heat required for paint drying can be recovered and reused using rotary heat exchangers. This saves costs and reduces the company’s CO₂ emissions, with other energy-saving components such as LED lighting also contributing to this. It should be emphasized that the exhaust air from the paint shop is 99% free of paint particles and pollutants thanks to a multi-stage filter system. This means that SEHON undercuts the legally prescribed limit values by a full 90%. A benefit for the environment and nature, and at the same time proof of the sustainability of SEHON systems equipped with intelligent control systems from the Swabian technology market leader.
Managing Director Tiemo Sehon comments: “The greatest possible energy savings for our customers is right at the top of our list of priorities when it comes to the new construction or modernization of a paint shop. The combination paint booths and drying systems installed at Niggemeyer not only guarantee the best possible surfaces but, in combination with the in-house CHP unit, enable a reduction in CO₂ emissions of up to 80 %. At the same time, our advanced filter system ensures that the exhaust air produced is free of particles and that no microplastics, for example, are released into the environment.”
Customers benefit in two ways: from the high quality and shorter waiting times
The new high-end paint booths and drying systems also have a positive effect on processing times. This is because the thoroughly optimized paint shop significantly reduces waiting times, which benefits both private customers and companies with large fleets. As an established and successful specialist for the support and maintenance of complete vehicle fleets with trucks and commercial vehicles, Niggemeyer has also opted for larger paint booths and dryers that can easily accommodate trucks weighing up to 10 tons.
After all, several booths and more space also ensure greater throughput in the paint shop. This is an important criterion for a full-service provider such as Niggemeyer, which also repairs small to medium-sized paint damage to the vehicle body using the cost-effective spot repair process. This is usually done directly on the vehicle without dismantling. Niggemeyer also relies on SEHON’s expertise when it comes to the comfort of painting body parts or complete cars. Among other things, a floor-level lifting platform was purchased for this purpose, which disappears completely into the grating floor of the cab.
“We are very proud of our new paint shop and are pleased that we can fulfill customer requests promptly and, above all, in a more environmentally friendly way. Choosing SEHON was the right decision for us in many respects. We were convinced not only by the superior technology, but also by the perfect interaction from planning to commissioning of the system. What’s more, SEHON provides us with the complete service package, including maintenance and repair, from a single source,” adds Mona Niggemeyer-Hollmann.
